On the Causeway between Mobile and Spanish Fort Alabama, with views of the five river system. This is one busy place, but worth the wait if necessary. We can start with the great views but must rave about the seafood. Grilled oysters, blackened, steamed, baked and fried fish all to perfection. Lunch specials that will fill you up. But don't forget the Key Lime pie. My wife loves the shrimp tacos and fried, mom prefers the fried grouper and slaw. Me I'm in for the fresh catch of the day blackened with shrimp and grits. Have a beer or sweet tea with the meal. We love to watch the mullet and speckled trout jumping in the canal that runs behind the restaurant. Come in the spring and summer to see Ospray (fish eagles) nesting on one of the light post in the middle of the parking lot. This place is not to be missed.
We have two little ones and we were told by our kind and patient waitress. Bobbi Jo, that kids eat free on Tuesdays, so there's another plus! Let me just add, Bobbi Jo was extremely accommodating and sweet to us!
My family's and my experience here was amazing! It was our first time trying this place out, and we left disappointed ONLY because we live 10 hours away from OOH. We were passing through from a Disney World vacation, and we are so happy to have given the restaurant a try.
Do NOT tell your cardiologist that you ate here, almost all of the food they serve is fried. My wife and I took my grandmother and aunt here (They claimed it was the best place around). I must say up front, the place is busy; but the wait staff reflects that exponentially - getting acknowledgement from your waiter/tress takes a long time. The salad bar is as fresh as a fast food restaurant, and the appetizers come out with the meal. Everything that is fried tasted the same, and it all has the same breading. As a local fish monger, I can tell you the only thing fresh that we had was the redfish. I travelled over a 100 miles to take my grandmother to lunch, and I will go the other direction next time. I am sure to the locals think it is awesome because they don't know a difference, but I wouldn't go back for the price; I spent over $120 for 4 meals, 1 table appetizer, and 4 non-alcoholic drinks (tea and water). The views are great and the parking lot is small. Good luck.
We had dinner with friends and were seated promptly at a table with great water and sunset views. I ordered a whole snapper, blackened, and my wife a whole fried flounder. Both were very good. Our friends ordered the fire grilled oysters, and they looked great! My rating would be 5 stars if there had been any lettuce other than iceberg on the salad bar. No spring mix, no romaine, but I loved the pickled okra, hard-boiled eggs, and house dressing! Our waiter handled an order snafu very courteously and professionally.
The rest of the staff were highly welcoming and kind, as well. Again, we wish we lived closer to this restaurant, but at least we are aware this gem exists and will be back for sure. We will also spread the word to friends. Thank you!
Great dinner celebrating our anniversary. Food was delicious and Phillip our server did an amazing job. Finished off our meal with peanut butter pie (as everyone should ) and a delicious cinnamon toast crunch cocktail.
My husband ordered the 1/2 dozen oysters which he loved. I'm not a fan of oysters myself, however, I tried one from his plate and it was delicious. I ordered the Shrimper's delight and everything was so tasty and cooked to perfection. I also had a side order of red beans and rice and cheese grits. Both were amazing.
