i have to avoid this post office because I cannot stand the older lady that works there. She is stuck in the past and quite proud of it. I kid you not, she smiled when she said they accept checks and cash only when all I had on me was a debit card and was upset because I needed to get a package out that day.

Staff is rude. Only accepts cash. Why is this place still open?

Rude. And they lost my package after they told me to put it in the black bin up front.

I would give this place a -1 if I could. First of all, the customer service is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! There is an older lady (70s-80s) that is extremely rude and not friendly. If you don't want to help people then help the rest of the community out and retire. Secondly, who does not take credit cards in 2016? Seriously?! How can you not accept credit cards? Not everyone walks around with cash in their pockets. And lastly, I tried to ship a package for next day delivery and was told they can not ship next day! Are you f-ing kidding me?!?! I was told I had to go to the Daphne post office. I told her no, I'm not going to the Daphne Post Office. I'll just take my business to UPS. UPS was shocked when I told them that the Spanish Fort Post Office could not mail my package and he was very friendly and helpful. My suggestion...go to UPS in Daphne. Spend the extra few bucks to ship from a place that actually wants your business. Spanish Fort Post Office is a joke and serves absolutely no purpose. I will tell everyone I know NOT to use them.

Wish I could give it less than 1 star! We MUST get a new post office with updated computer systems, the ability to take credit cards, a Kiosk and a larger facility for the growth of this community. The little old lady was so sweet, but when she started to use her little calculator and give me wrong information on signature confirmation along with Priority Mail, it was too risky to proceed with my transaction. I excused myself and took my mail back graciously and drove 7 miles out of my way to get the job done. I now have to go to Daphne which is a big inconvenience. Tried contacting the US Government Post Office site to ask for a new post office and the location is not even listed to file a request. Really??? We need to get a petition together in this area for this to change, because it is needed desperately with the growth and need of this community.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind the cash/check only policy they have if that were the only negative thing about this place. Unfortunately, the staff is rude and they close early. Too many reasons to avoid this place.

They close early, as well. Doors are locked five minutes before the posted closing time.
